Many states had closed primaries…that meant that all those Millennials who had registered as “independent” were not allowed to participate in them…

Bernie could have played a big role in helping Democrats win in 2016. But that was not in his personal or political interest. Instead, he wound up being a considerable factor in their ultimate defeat.
