My hope is that these kids trigger a nationwide movement of students with the common purpose of getting government off its ass to do something.

Concern coming from potential victims of school shootings will be harder to ignore, especially if they put eloquent and media-savvy teens out front. And it may force more parents to get involved.

We need a movement that is identified with faces. That has been generally absent in “the resistance” as we know it. Victims speaking out and demanding that something be done to prevent more victims.

This will be difficult because we know what the current Internet climate of discourse will make of these people…
