That’s where I’m at a disadvantage. She’s still got a lot of contacts in law enforcement in the area. I can’t summarily dismiss this stuff because I don’t live there and am not part of the community.

So I was doing some work in the basement of a local police agency a few years back. Had to walk through the back of a meeting/training room to get to the gear. And one afternoon they had this guy come in and do a slide show about “current threats”. And it was the worst sort of Bircher Red-scare bullshit, basically just intel-agencied-up rehashes of what the Fox crowd thought the immigrants and lefties got up to in their spare time.

I’ve heard things since then about private companies that do these briefings - it’s another marketplace that’s gotten dominated by right-wing liars. And of course there are the private Facebook groups for police which are just as awful as you’ve heard. So when local LEO talk about this shit, I know full well that it could be something they legit heard at work, and and genuinely bullshit at the same time.
