re: #173 blueraven

You are trying to equate things that are not the same at all. These protestors were not led by leaders of the democratic party. There were also protests and arrests at the democratic convention.

The republican party is actively courting the tea party crowd. They are leading rallies and making speeches to them on the capital steps. The RNC chairman is meeting with them and praising them. Sarah Palin was the keynote speaker at their convention.

When you can show me that level of involvement by the democratic party, you may have a point. Until then, you do not.

There are plenty of comments upthread that have nothing to do with such specifics.

And of course, there was that Al Franken incident when he attacked and physically carried a LaRouche supporter out of a meeting. Or the mock “trials” held in the COB by John Conyers, “charging” Bush with war crimes.

Of course, on the latter note, it’s only fair to point out that just last Sunday, Cindy Sheehan was once again in DC, this time demanding that the current President be physically tossed out of the White House over ongoing operations in Afghanistan. So maybe those balance each other out.

Frankly, I find it amusing that so much effort is being expended trying to deny precise equivalence. Of course there aren’t any examples of identical incidents - the incidents are separate to begin with. But trying to don the halo of innocence in this manner is laughable.

I assume you can use Google. There’s no shortage of vile bullshit that’s been committed by either side. “Oh, but their’s is way worse!” is childish and lame. Clean your own house, or at least acknowledge that it’s just as filthy as they one across the street.
