To me, the heart of a Brave New World is a society that has been designed by directly designing humans to be what was wanted.

Sorting of humans into groups, and then exploiting that for other ends by those with privilege, is old, but we keep inventing new ways of doing it. Today we use propaganda, but that includes more than words (such as colors, smells, sounds). And yes, it would not surprise me if someday we do it more directly, genetically or with augmentation.
