I’m not sure how far back everyone is from the launch pad, but I bet there isn’t a human within a half mile or more of the pad. And even then, they may be in explosion proof buildings, underground or the like.

And with all the technology in remote electronics, cell phones, video camera and the like, it is pretty easy to do a launch from a remote location.

When you have a blast like that, you know fragments are going to fly quite a ways.
