2020 is just the first step. One good thing about being here in Virginia is we have elections that send people to Richmond and Washington every year. And we’ve had a lot of tight races too so I take nothing for granted. But yeah 2022 is going to be extremely important. And I hope to God that younger voters learn this. I do not want 2010 and 2014 redux.

What we need is 1934 redux.

And I hope that national Democrats (from the top down) obsess on this point from the first day of the (God willing) Biden Administration.

Because the big difference between then and now? FDR, policy and political opposition aside, didn’t have to deal with about a third of the entire country utterly convinced that being a (D) meant that his Administration had no legitimacy whatsoever, and an angry, all-pervasive media devoted to pushing that viewpoint on the public.
I mean, Roosevelt did have that: but in the 1930’s, it was pretty much a crank fringe: today, we call it Fox Nation…..
