As to “lockdowns too severe,” a month ago, the SF bay area was in category purple, the worst, as was most of the south (LosAngeles and environs). As of Tuesday’s update, most of the bay area and the south have turned red, and some (including my county) is now orange.

And we did it without killing 800,000 people chasing a mythical herd immunity.

Of course, as we’re all saying in a different context, we can’t get complacent.
