I don’t care how “reasonable” anyone from that party sounds, I do not vote for anyone in the Racist Party and never have (which is why my ballot here has been mostly blank until this election).

I didn’t say I’d vote for him. I’m a few towns over from where his district starts, anyway, and if I were over there, I’d have voted for the very good D candidate, Dana Balter.

I’m saying that just as our party can accommodate people as different as, say, Joe Manchin and AOC, I’m willing to acknowledge that there are people in their party who see things differently from the Trump-loving shriekers. Not enough of them to make a difference, not yet, but I’d rather have a John Katko or a Tom Reed sitting in Congress in place of another Boebert, Taylor Greene or Stefanik.

(You won’t see Katko starting the next session with an impeachment resolution against Biden, just for starters.)
