I think people shouldn’t be allowed to quote that Yeats poem unless they can recite at least half a dozen other ones from memory. “An Irish Airman Foresees His Death”, “Sailing to Byzantium” and “Down by the Salley Gardens”, mandatory; the other three, your choice.
“The Second Coming” is the ost over-cited, misapplied, worked-to-death poem he ever wrote. Everyone quotes it, from right to left and back again.
