Two rescue cats have come to take up residence and keep the staff busy. They are still getting used to the place; exploring, sniffing, and since they are only mildly acquainted with each other they are also getting used to each other as full-time room mates. So far they like the wide window sills and being high up — lots of time spent sitting on sill watching the world go by below. There has been some play and cats chasing each other around the place since they have a lot more room than they had at the shelter.

The all black one (rescue name of “Cannon”) is pretty laid back and is already hanging out on the couch while I type comments. When I went to pick up cats today at the shelter he was in the one room lying on his back on the window sill catching some rays.

The other one (rescue name “Puffin”) is a bit more of a problem case. Has a “does not play well with others” reputation and is still a bit more strung-out still. She is also pretty aggressive towards the other cat and initiates most of the minor spitting and growling exchanges.

We will see how they settle in, adjust to the new surroundings, and get along over the next few days.
