Back in the day, when one stayed at a motel in Nevada, they’d give you a free roll of nickels to go play the slot machines. I never won anything, but also don’t recall ever dropping in one of my own nickles. I think Mr. C. once put a quarter in a slot machine in a Winnemucca grocery store to demonstrate how they worked to the kids.
