Yeah, the anti-union stuff is always fun among libertarians. I think a lot of it has to do with the idea that unions often require membership and therefore are “free associations” and I get that on a philosophical level, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense on a practical level.
I think a lot of them are honestly unaware of the role that unions have had in forming the modern American middle class. I get that unions have problems. Corruption for starters. I’m reasonably pro union but I understand why Unions aren’t as supported as much as they were when my grandfather worked for the NLRB. I still see a place for them in the economy though.
