I definately understand the appeal but I try to resist the urge. In special situations it can be effective but the technique is just way overused. Chicken sandwiches, movies, radio shows, cartoons, etc.I was listening to a recent interview with Salman Rushdie and he was talking about how we have created a culture of outrage and people define themselves by their outrages and what they’re offended by. In the end it just ends up being an excuse to impose their will on others and create a feeling of self empowerment.

Agree. That’s why I support the ACLU’s effort to keep people like me in line.
