U.S. President Donald Trump made it clear he expects Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine and reduce violence in Ukraine, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Tuesday.

“President Trump has made it very clear that he expects the Russian government to de-escalate violence in the Ukraine and return Crimea,” Spicer said at a daily news briefing. “At the same time, he fully expects to and wants to get along with Russia.”

MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Any discussion on Crimea’s alienation from Russia is an infringement on the country’s territorial integrity, Speaker of Russia’s State Duma, the lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, said.
“Let’s stop all talks when discussing various statements on Crimea. Any conversations on the alienation of our territory (and Crimea is part of Russia) is an infringement on the country,” he said.
“This issue should not be raised at all. Let’s stop the talks,” Volodin said at the State Duma’s plenary session.
Volodin commented on a statement made by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in which he said that US President Donald Trump had clarified he expected Crimea’s return to Ukraine and de-escalation in Donbass.
The State Duma speaker recalled that during his election campaign Trump spoke about normalizing relations with Russia, China, ending military actions and fighting against terrorism.
