Hell, even if Schumer was going to say that the DNC plans to play the long game, there are ways to make that hurt for the GOP. Say that while the DNC will not prevent the government from running, they will make any other legislation dependent upon a DACA vote. That the DNC will use every legislative trick in the book to ensure no other legislation gets a vote without DACA being addressed. And if the GOP try to sneak something through via a CR, then the DNC will filibuster that bill and advocate only “clean” CRs between now and November in absence of a budget resolution.
