These right wing judges were shaped by people who were terrified by social progress made in the Warren Court years. They’ll gladly reverse a lot of it.

It’s what led to the branch of wingnut judicial thought we know as “originalism,” the idea that the Warren and Burger Courts had “overstepped” on cases like Brown and Roe by not sticking strictly to what was spelled out implicitly in the Constitution, and thus had “legislated” from the bench.
