Be careful what you wish for.

I got a mile outside of town, and I hit an elk with my Smart. The score is now four deer, an elk, and a wild turkey. My car is wrecked. I limped back to town, and now I am on endless hold with the VA to cancel my appointment this afternoon. I then need to call the sheriff, then the insurance company, then try to arrange to rent a car in Scottsbluff (sixty miles away), then find someone who can fix my car.

Was the elk killed by the collision? Up here you can claim it if it is, and elk is very good eating.
