Yep, you’re a person for the purposes of outlawing abortion. But don’t expect Uncle Sam to help you out with prenatal care, housing, food, or any other than other stuff. You ain’t got the money to bring a kid into the world, then you shoulda kept your damned legs closed. And don’t give me none of that jazz about rape, that kid didn’t do nothin’ wrong and you should abort him because that’s against God’s plan.

Pretty much. Mr. Paul, that kid that didn’t ask to be conceived, and is just along for the ride? You want to protect him? Me too. I want to make sure he gets proper medical care from before the time his mama knows she’s pregnant. I want him to get good nutrition growing up, and a good education. I want him to be treated with justice, and get a good job, without having some asshole tell him they don’t hire black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American or martian types.

This is why, as a liberal, I believe that we should have a society and a government that uses our resources to give all our kids a fair shake. Now, what was your plan for protecting that unborn baby again?
