His lawyers should’ve told him that by now. If he pardons his kids and they accept it, using the pardon to avoid prosecution they’ll be confessing to crimes according to established precedent. If he tries to pardon himself the act itself is an impeachable offense as he’ll be tacitly admitting to the prerequisite high crimes & misdemeanors.

None of this however means that Congressional Republicans will do their job and choose country over Party.

Congressional Republicans will never put country over party. However, if the tr*mp circus starts threatening their reelection prospects, then steps will be taken.
