Atheists/nones are roughly 1/4 of the whole population. How big a bloc do you need to “set the direction?”

With the retirement here of Senator Ernie Chambers, we have one atheist in the Unicameral, Senator Megan Hunt.

In a candidate survey for the Omaha World-Herald, she explicitly stated she is an atheist. Hemant Mehta interviewed her after that, asking her why she would out herself, as that is political suicide.

She noted she wanted to get that out there to head off rodent copulation by Democrats (not Republicans) in a primary, as she was aware of what bigot Eric Swalwell did in his primary.
