Those missions are why we do space science, and those probes are still returning good science/data despite the bandwith/limited computing power dating back decades.

There’s an entire fleet of Mars orbiter spacecraft built by different countries which have agreed data transmission protocols so that any probe or rover on the Martian surface can communicate with them and hence back to Earth.
