That’s the reality of it, cutting off his nose to spite his face. For years now, critics of Medicare have charged that doctors were refusing to take new patients or dropping existing ones because it reimburses based upon what the government bean-counters think a procedure/treatment should cost rather than what the hospital wants to charge. So now that the insurance companies offering plans through the ACA have to abide by the same rules, the hospitals are screaming “Fine then, we just won’t take them either!”

Only an idiot thinks that hospitals can get by on non-subsidized insurance holders.
