I don’t think I’d call Huntsman a wingnut. If he was a wingnut, he wouldn’t have taken that ambassadorship. Plus he’s said some things which would not sit well with right-wing Christians (e.g., about creationism). And he like s Captain Beefheart’s Trout Mask Replica. He can’t be all bad.

PS He was also a halfway decent governor of Utah and loosened up the liquor laws a bit to the point where the wingnutty legislature tightened them up again after he left.

IIRC, Huntsman’s in the No Abortion for Any Reason camp. That seems to get glossed over in a lot of his profiles.

Which again, speaks to the GOTP problem that even the “sane” ones have to prove they’re a zealot in order to stay good with the mouthbreathers.
