The UK’s Iraq war report is far more devastating than the FBI report. UK intelligence predicted the chaos which would descend on Iraq as a result of the invasion. Blair went along anyway to maintain good relations with the US. But that was when we needed a real friend to take the car keys away.

Reminds me of stuff I read about the Bay of Pigs invasion: British intelligence warned the United States that there was no popular support for a revolt against Castro, particularly in the area where the invasion was going to be launched, but JFK et al. didn’t bother to listen.
