With the obvious exception of a Bin Laden, or a Kim Jong Il, etc

There are people whose impact on the world is so big, and so vile, that the only possible response to their death is gladness and relief…well, maybe not the only possible, but it’s a reasonable response.

For more minor malefactors, I don’t ask that they be whitewashed in death, but I generally refrain from hopping and skipping. Personal enemies also fall into this category.

It’s got to do with proportion, more than anything.
