This is probably the most epic tweetstorm I’ve ever seen.

Read the whole thing. I laughed, I cried, I laughed again.

Seems to be yet another (though more inspiring and eloquent) variation on the “we’ve been through crap before and we’ll get through this” theme. There are three reasons why I don’t, at this moment, share the optimism:

1) The globalized (therefore precarious and vulnerable) economy - imagine an exponentially worse version of the 2008 financial crisis - none but the most isolated and self-sufficient communities would be immune
2) A nuclear arsenal large enough to, with one wrong/stupid move, extinguish all life on this planet
3) The ever-increasing possibly of the “point of no return” re catastrophic climate change

In other words, we’re rapidly approaching “sorry, no do-overs” territory.
