Lubbock is still at 1.1” precipitation for the year, in fact since last November 8. This is the worst drought in the city’s history and very close to the driest 6 months in any top 100 US city in RECORDED HISTORY. The yokel Trumpist media and sycophant politicians decry the drought but have little or nothing to say about how extreme it really is. It is much worse than the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, for example. Lubbock was the second largest town in the original Dust Bowl, after Amarillo. It is now the largest.
