Well, that’s only going to work with a minority of voters: up til now, the actual size of that minority has been carefully camouflaged by the RW media (and magnified by the fact that they tend to vote, predictably, in large blocs). But there’s always the downside that Trump and the GOP too-obviously fucking with a serious and well-run (and productive) investigation like Mueller’s - because they are guilty - is going to piss off the actual majority of the electorate enough that gerrymandering isn’t going to help them.

I’m unclear on the details (maths iz hard) - but I think a lot of GOP redistricting/gerrymandering in many states was based on tweaking small percentages of R/D- leaning voters, and that the downside of that is that a true “wave” breaking the other way will cause them to lose more districts than they otherwise might. At least for a “wave election”.
Clarification will be appreciated.
