But, unfortunately, highly unlikely:

1. Harrison seems like a smart guy and all, and a decent-enough candidate, but he has never held or run for any political office before: a statewide Senate race doesn’t usually make for a good maiden run.

2 (most importantly) It’s South Carolina. Though in this case, it’s more partisan than racial.

Be interesting to see SC having two bald black guys representing them in the Senate, but unseating Lindsey is probably too much to hope for. This time.

Latest polling has him within 7 points of Lindsey. And, although he’s not held office, he was SCDP Chair and in leadership at DNC, so he’s not coming out of nowhere.

Yeah, it’s a huge uphill climb, but he’s raising incredible amounts of money and getting a lot of press, so I live in hope.

(and being black and bald are the only similarities between Jaime and Tim Scott)
