They once did a study asking people to indicate the level of the water in a tipping glass. Went like this. A picture of a glass two-thirds full of water was tilted this way and that. The respondents were told to use a stick to indicate which way the surface of the water would point in reality for any given angle of tilt.

Half the people thought it would stay even with the walls of the glass no matter which way you turned it.

Which would mean, if you tipped it upside-down, the water would stay in the glass.

This will blow their minds…
