I have to admit I was ready to dislike Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez because of her Bernie connections, because Bernie Sanders really alienated me in 2016. Big time.

But after watching some of her appearances today, I have to say I like what I’m seeing. This may change, but people like her are ultimately going to be the future of the liberal agenda in this country, whether it’s called the Democratic Party or not.

And we’re in a fight for our lives right this fucking second.

She’s a deft politician, emphasizing her similarities with the party and not her differences. That’s what voters are looking for.

She will undoubtedly have differences with Pelosi and other more mainstream leaders, but she’s sharp enough to express them with a velvet tone, while reminding them she does have some electoral power that wants a more progressive bent to policies.

She appears to want Sanders’ goals, but not necessarily is married to his methods or to the man himself.
