That part about “…a scimitar by his side…” reminds me of an old puzzle.

For a sword to fit in a corresponding scabbard snugly, both must have a uniform cross section.

There are only 3 general types of shapes in which you can make a sword so that it will fit tightly into its scabbard.

The first is the standard straight sword.

The second is the curved blade, like that of the scimitar.

What it the 3rd type of shape?
