I despair. Do we need to designate the name of a cookie as the “o” word? I really hope not.

I remember when the first suggestions about banning transfats came out, and I was making jokes about becoming an Oreo smuggler, and that there would be Oreo pushers hanging out around schools.

After today, I shall have to carefully check any such thought or joke for nuances that never once crossed my mind before.
