Yup, as a small town socialist, my first thought is village-ise (as opposed to nationalise) the general store, bar and restaurant, auto repair shop, gun shop, and beauty shop. /s

(The agricultural co-op by definition here is already socialist, which I point out when someone rags on socialism, as are our city owned water and sewer systems, and the state electric system. Our water here is only 1/8 of the price of other towns around us with private systems - something about we don’t take a profit, and electricity in Nebraska is some of the cheapest in the nation.) I adamantly opposed a plan hatched by a couple trustees to privatise our water system (it was voted down).
