I have to respectfully disagree, every time we’ve seen Trump seem to “get it,” that lasted right up until he grew overconfident (which he always does), which leads to him dropping back into habit because it’s what he is most familiar with. My prediction is that he will fall back into form as soon as next week, when the new House Dem majority is seated and he starts trying to show how “tough” he is compared to Nancy.

This is nothing new. They have tried to normalize Orange Bozo forever, and then in two days they will be reporting some more crazy thing he just did, his bad character or another revelation of his corruption.

Everyone is trying too hard to make him something he is not and will never be.

I hope that both of you are right — and that Trump will implode, but remember he reached age 70 without ever being held to account for any of his amoral or illegal actions. It was the election that changed the narrative for him and exposed him to legal jeopardy; but he may finally have learned what is needed to get the approval he so craves. He knows how to defer to tyrants — he may now understand how to get approval from a wider audience. Ivanka and Jared have likely been advising him on how to change his tone.

Let’s hope your take on this is right — we’ll see what happens with tomorrow’s tweets.
