Used to live next door to a house full of studio musicians back in the 90s. Amazing guys - any one of them had more technical chops that the superstars they sat in for, but never could quite break through on their own.

Deeply introverted, or raging assholes, although the latter sadly doesn’t seem to disqualify many musicians from getting acclaim.

As in most things, it’s about finishing. A lot of people have ideas for books. Stephen King finishes. Lots of people can play instruments. A few write songs, put them together, and do all the work such as performing and touring and promoting.
