IF McConnell should just say, we’ll skip the hearings and just vote, there won’t be a chance to ask her anything.

Surely if he tries such a thing (“to save time”), a couple of Repubs would find that a step too far. And Dems should ask why not use that saved time to vote on some aid to the people devastated by the pandemic.

I would hope that going straight to a vote without a hearing would be a bridge too far even for McConnell. GOP Senators would want their opportunity to demonstrate their support in a televised confirmation hearing.
