Hell Francis called out anyone who builds a wall. It wasn’t just an attack on Trump. As I said last night, from Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down This Wall to Mr. Trump, Please build up this wall.

But the Pope lives behind a wall! Never mind that the wall has a whole bunch of portals allowing people daily entry into the Vatican (a separate and distinct nation from Italy that surrounds it entirely).

The Pope was also talking about the moral and ethical choices of building walls and what it does to people on both sides of the fence. It’s not just good fences make good neighbors. There are costs too - and Trump and the rest of the right wing noise machine ignored that to focus on the criticism.
