I’m inclined to agree, but the smart move by Hitler after Pearl might’ve been to denounce Japan and declare his neutrality to see if domestic political pressure might’ve kept the US focused on Japan instead. Not that Hitler was making many smart decisions by then.

One of the weirdest things I ever heard from the Right was “Why did Roosevelt go to war with Germany? They didn’t do anything to us!” Not only is this not true (see reference to Reuben James above), but also Hitler declared war on us a few days after Pearl Harbor!

The bigger question is why that even comes up?
