My congresswoman just died :(

Louise Slaughter was as good as Democratic congresswomen get. Smart as hell, energetic as hell even at 88, all set to win another term this November and get her chair back. Fierce opponent of Trumpian bullshit. Fierce champion of science (she was a trained biologist).

Dammit dammit dammit I will miss her. And our local Dems are such a divided mess that I have no idea who they’ll end up running or whether they’ll win.

Damn. I was just reading about her since I read an article on scientists in Congress. Rip to her.
