Yeah and it’s really the same thing with drugs too. You get the gilbertarian naivete o those issues. Even one of my friends does but some of hte others I know just think shouting legalize recreational cocaine is a winning issue. And then they without irony look down on AOC for the Green New Deal which I like but I concede is a starting conversation not the final piece.

I was reading recently about how and why cocaine became illegal in the US. Apparently, “nobody” had a problem with it when it was middle class and rich white guys doing it. But when black guys started doing it, it because a problem. Funny that.

I’m sort of meh on legalizing drugs other than marijuana. Wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to it, but I suspect we are a long way from having any sort of rational conversation about it. Then again, I didn’t think I’d see a mainstream presidential candidate suggest decriminalizing sex work in my lifetime either, so there’s that.
