If we forget the war he started that left thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and the torture approved by his administration and his total mishandling of Katrina and the vicious political attacks by surrogates on McCain in 2000 and Kerry in 2004 and we just look at this snippet, Bush the younger comes across as a knowledgeable, thoughtful person. He’s clearly not using a teleprompter — and he appears to be a compassionate, reasonable statesman.
