LOL well, the prairie dogs seem to be colonising Lodgepole according to the newspaper.

Columbus and follow-on conquistadors brought disease as well, including plague to prairie dogs. (It is not thought to have existed here prior to European colonisation.)

Perhaps it’s just revenge on their part, though this part of the country used to be part of France.

As far as anyone knows, bubonic plague arrived in San Francisco in 1900 from Asia. Rats. Ship. Etc. Naturally it was covered up by everyone because of The Economy and therefore was able to spread unchecked. More here.
