However, when you become a public company, you are governed by a duty to serve all customers, not just those you believe in. Let us say, for instance, I decided to not allow anyone who was advertising rubber ducks to advertise in my newspaper. I think I would get called on it.
You are not legally required to serve anyone who is not a recognized minority and who would have just cause for a discrimination lawsuit. I can forbid advertisements for rubber ducks if I want; people can complain all they want; my revenues would go down the toilet and I’d be out of business, but that is a perfectly viable option if I so desired. Charles, for example, is not required to allow any and all comments and opinions to remain on this board, even though it is a “public” communication forum.
