I’m really disappointed in some of the republican leaders playing along with this.

It actually is somewhat surprising the media hasn’t exacted some sort of price for members of Congress piggybacking onto the Tea Party movement.

Ordinarily when a politician attends an event where the discourse steps outside the boundaries of what is considered acceptable for those in higher office, the press loves to demand whether a politician endorses what was said or repudiates it. In the case of the Tea Parties, the press almost seems to be encouraging their behavior (with inordinate amounts of coverage and little criticism).
