My parents grew up when that still happened! When I was little, Staten island still had several cobble stoned roads. I would know when we were getting close to my grandmas house when we began to drive on the cobblestones on Victory Blvd. Excellent memories!

The oldest I remember is the old wood fruit carts in Brooklyn in the 60s.
