I think the difference is that entitled is a legal distinction, deserving is a moral distinction.

That’s a distinction I can get behind.

Yeah, there are laws and procedures to follow. I know that. I get it. However, I don’t think Zimmerman deserves them because his actions to me are immoral and unforgivable. He’ll get whatever rights he’s entitled to under the law, but IMO he should count himself lucky that he has those rights, especially since he was so quick to deny those same rights to a kid.
