If life begins at conception, does that also mean that those women qualify for child tax credits? And if they should imbibe alcohol, smoke a cigarette, or partake in risky behavior before finding out they’re pregnant, wouldn’t that technically be child abuse/endangerment? Should we begin to monitor all girls and women from the moment they have their first period til menopause? This whole idea that life is so precious at conception that abortion should be outlawed as “murder” starts us on a slippery slope the likes of which would make even Orwell scream “JESUS!”
