If you think back to the Bush era of Stewart’s case many were embracing radical ideas and heroes in response to having a Republican in the White house at a time of crisis. People did a lot of stupid things. 9-11 truth, Ward Churchill, George Galloway, Robert Fisk, volunteering as a human shield for Saddam. A lot of people were nutty back then and they weren’t cured. They’ll be nutty again in the near future.
